Under the Dome: A Novel - Stephen King Not too bad if you enjoy the whole "people trapped by themselves/true human nature comes out" type of book, which I do. Very reminiscent of The Mist and Lord of the Flies, both of which are also mentioned in the book.
Smoke and Mirrors - Neil Gaiman This was the first time reading any short stories by Neil Gaiman and I must say that I was impressed but not surprised. Everything I have read of his is fascinating and this was no different. This collection contained a mix of short stories and poems, ranging from science fiction and fantasy to mystery and suspense, as well as comedy. My favorites included "Snow, Glass, Apples," "Murder Mysteries," and the hidden "The Wedding Present." This book is exactly why Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors.
Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse #1) - Charlaine Harris Started reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels, because of the HBO show True Blood. This first book of the series was pretty good, but the show expands quite a bit more from the book, with even more characters and storylines, which I enjoyed. This novel is a fast, easy read and I plan on proceeding on with the series.
The Mist - Stephen King I decided to read this after watching the film. I was expecting the book to be a lot better than the movie, as is common for most books-to-movies. The book wasn't bad, just not what I was hoping for, especially since I had actually enjoyed the movie. This was also my first attempt at any Stephen King and I have been told that his novels are better than his short stories. I would still recommend reading this story to anyone looking for a quick scare.
Lord of the Flies - William Golding 5 stars

Absolutely love this book! Read it once in high school and decided to reread it. It is frightening yet realistic tale about human nature.
